Pall Mall fundraiser – 4th February

ROA Gallery, Pall Mall, 4th Feb 2010

On 4th February 2010 I exhibited photos from my recent trip to Africa at fundraising evening in aid of Zamcog, a project dedicated to supporting the street kids and orphans of Zambia.

“Zamcog’s mission is to help the street kids and orphaned children in Zambia. The courage and tenacity of these children is overwhelming; they often are looking after themselves either on the street or within compounds from as young as the age of seven. Yet in many ways they are like any other child – they want to go to school, they want to eat and play, and they dream of their future.”

“Through the photographs on display we hope to give you a glimpse into the daily lives of the student at Shitima Community School in Kabwe, Zambia, and through their artwork, a glimpse into their souls.”

“The photographs displayed this evening are expressive portraits of the children and the community in which they live. They symbolise both the hope and the despair that these children wake up to every day.”
